Come and work with us!
We have an exciting opportunity in my group at UCL. We have a 5-year Senior Research Fellowship in Statistics and Health Economics — all details here. The post is Grade 8 with salary in the range £44,674 to £52,701 (depending on experience etc).
I think it’s a really cool post: it’s co-funded by UCL and ICON, one of the leading consultancy companies in the area of economic evaluation and health technology assessment. We have a long-standing research collaboration with ICON and have worked on several interesting projects. This will mean that the post-holder will get to work on real problems and applications. The idea is to develop “applied methodology” on a range of disease areas and interventions. The 50% funded directly by UCL will guarantee time for independent research, ideas for grant applications, writing methodological and applied papers, some (limited) teaching (eg in the MSc HEDS) and some supervision (of MSc and potentially of PhD students — some project examples here).
We’re looking for somebody who is familiar with R (so they can help us in our quest to annoy every single person working in HTA until they actually takes this up), experience in working with Bayesian modelling (including BUGS/JAGS and possibly Stan). As I said, funding is secured for a long period (5 years in the first instance), which means there are interesting prospects in terms of career advancement.
The deadline for application is 11 January 2020 — we aim at holding interviews by the end of January very early February and then start as soon as possible. Shout (well, not literally… Send me an email!) if you would like to discuss!
